Resumo" Contemporary problems " and " men of action " in the creation of the Annales. Correspondance between Lucien Febvre and Albert Thomas (1928-1930), Bertrand Müller. This correspondence between one of the fathers of the Annales and the first director of the International Labor Bureau, former students of the Ecole normale supérieure, shows how careful the young journal was to recruit investigators interested in contemporary history and recalls that it also intended to provide historical argumentation to men of action and decision-makers.
