Aus Keto-Mannich-Basen und Formamid entstehen β-Formylamino-ketone, die auch bei der Addition von Formamid an α.β-ungesättigte Ketone erhalten werden. N-Chlormethyl-phthalimid setzt sich mit Formamid zu N-Formyloxymethyl-phthalimid um, Diäthylaminomethyl-p-tolyl-sulfid dagegen zu Formylaminomethyl-p-tolyl-sulfid.
