Resumo

We report the first observation, to our knowledge, of morphology-dependent dye lasing from a single microdroplet with double-layered dye doping. The droplet consists of a spherical dye-doped solid inner core covered with a dye-doped liquid solution (the outer shell). Through pumping with an ultraviolet N2 laser (337.1 nm), lasing from the inner sphere occurs with spectrum shifted toward shorter wavelengths compared with that obtained from a single-dye-doped spherical core alone. A reasonable explanation for the spectral shift of lasing is given through the experiments.
