Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Steels

A survey has been made of the equilibrium diagrams of six ternary systems based on iron and manganese, where the third element is from the first transition metal series: Ti, V, Cr, Co, Ni, and Cu. The information available in the literature has been assembled to give a reasonably clear picture of the phase equilibria in each of the ternary systems in terms of isothermal sections and, where possible, liquidus and solidus projections.
