Resumo

A method of LDH isoenzyme determination, which can easily be performed by a small to medium sized laboratory, is presented. The method described utilizes commercially prepared reagents which are easily obtainable and are relatively stable. Cellulose acetate has been chosen as the separation media, and the Babson colorimetric LDH method as the staining procedure. Included in the text is a comparison of the normal values obtained by several authors and an explanation for the variations between them. A method of standardization of the relative LDH activity has been adopted to facilitate the differentiation of a normal pattern from that of a slightly abnormal one.
