Resumo

A brief history and description of the University of New Hampshire meteor wind radar, located at Durham (43°N, 71°W) is presented. Winds measured for the periods 10–15 August 1974, 13–17 October 1975 and 16–22 January 1976, are discussed. In addition to prevailing winds, diurnal and semidiurnal tides, and their variation with height, the presence of a 48 hour component is discussed.
