Resumo

Abstract The variation in the spectral position of the fluorescent 2E-4A2 transition lines at high pressure and low temperature is studied. Two sharp lines from the Cr ions in the mirror sites named as R1, R2 and two others from those in the inverse sites named as S1, S2 have different red shift rate with pressure. When the temperature is decreased from 300K to 77K, all R lines and S lines shift to the blue more than 10cm-1. A rough estimate indicates that it has to take account of lattice relaxation and crystal field modification, in order to completely explain the shifts in both two cases.
