ResumoFoville’s syndrome, a neurological brainstem syndrome, was described in France in 1858. By chance, a talented portrait painter, CA Jensen, probably illustrated the syndrome at the same time in Copenhagen. This note illustrates the importance of observation in both neurology and art and the variety in interpretation of the same picture by viewers.
