ResumoAmylase activity in a calanoid copepod, Heliodiaptomus cinctus, exhibited a rhythmic pattern of diel variation with a peak in the early morning and a minimum level in the evening. In a normal food state and in a metal ion stress state, the enzyme activity decreases through time but in a food scarce state amylase activity exhibited a short-term increase followed by a decline.
