Resumo

A method is presented for top‐down, structured design of assembly language programs. High‐level language concepts such as block structure, modular programs etc. are implemented. Standard implementation of loops and program branches results in less error‐prone code. Comment lines are used for functional description of the program modules in a manner similar to high‐level languages. The comment lines by themselves are used as program documentation. The programming examples given refer to the Motorola 6809 processor, and the Motorola RASM09 Macro‐assembler. Program development has been performed on the Motorola Exorset 33 development system.
