ResumoRetropharyngealabscess is a rare but serious disease in children. Salmonella species are uncommon causative agents of deep neck infections. We present the clinical course of a 10-year-old boy with a retropharyngeal abscess caused by Salmonella lomita and review 18 previously published cases.
