On staff with Community Research Associates, Inc. (CRA), she is currently coordinating projects among several federal law-enforcement agencies to encourage and enhance dynamic shifts in attitude toward collaborative, competency-based training interventions. He is also Research Professor of Engineering Management at the Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, Before entering higher education he worked in engineering and research at Douglas Aircraft Company, as well as Boeing and Martin Co. Roger is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of School Psychology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology. He has been awarded the highest honor of the International Society for Performance Improvement by being named Member for Life, and served as president as well as being awarded the Thomas F. Gilbert Professional Achievement Award by that same organization. Roger has published 33 books and 180 articles on strategic planning, performance improvement, quality management and continuous improvement, needs assessment, management, and evaluation, and he consults worldwide on these topics. He is a Professor of Psychology at Western Michigan University (AB, University of Kansas, AM Harvard University, and PhD University of Michigan). A licensed clinical psychologist, he teaches in a Graduate Certificate program in HPT, an MA program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a PhD program in Applied Behavior Analysis. He has served on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Performance Improvement for almost four years. He serves as an editor for the Performance Improvement Quarterly, the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management, and the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis. He has authored or co-authored 10 books and more than 50 published papers and is a regular presenter at professional conferences. His most recent book, Performance-Based Instruction, co-authored by Karolyn Smalley, was published by Jossey-Bass in 1998. He has been a consultant more than 30 years with a client list including more than 60 public and private sector organizations, primarily in the United States.
