Also known as the Kulpa Valley, Pokuplje or the Pokupsko earthquake, it is often mentioned in textbooks, encyclopedias, and historical overviews of science as the earthquake whose seismograms provided key data for Andrija Mohorovičić's proof of the existence of the crust-mantle boundary that was later named after him. The earthquake occurred at just the right time and place to inspire research that resulted in one of the most-cited seismological papers (Mohorovičić 1910a, 1910b, 1910c)...
