ResumoA bstract A rapid spectrographic method for the quantitative analysis of ceramic materials has been developed. Samples as small as 50 mg. may be analyzed completely, and the speed is sufficient for the routine control of mixing, grinding, and other processes. The special problems of sampling and mixing are discussed in detail. Procedures are given for carrying out the determinations of soda and silica in alumina, but the method is equally applicable to other elements and other matrices. Numerical data are given showing the accuracy and precision to be expected in routine work.
