ResumoDiisopropyl fluorophosphate, which is an organophosphate inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase, caused an irreversible block of neuromuscular transmission in the rat diaphragm preparation. This block could be reversed by the addition of a competitive antagonist of acetylcholine such as D-tubocurarine.
