ResumoGibberellin A1 (GA1), GA15, GA19, GA20, GA29, GA44, and abscisic acid (ABA) were identified from vegetative shoots of Japanese cherry (Prunus spachiana Kitamura f. ascendens Kitamura, Edo-higan) by full-scan GC-MS. GA4, GA9, GA34, and GA53 were also tentatively identified. The endogenous levels of these gibberellins and of ABA were higher in the weeping cherry (P. spachiana Kitamura f. spachiana cv. Plenorosea, Yaebeni-shidare) than in the normal cultivar (Edo-higan).
