ResumoThe reaction of α-amino acids with [Pd(dmba)(acac)] (dmba = 2-[(dimethylamino)methyl]phenyl-C1,N; acac = acetylacetonate) gives stable amino acidato complexes [Pd(dmba)(Aa)] (Aa = N,O-amino acidato group) which are useful intermediates for the determination of the absolute configuration of their parent amino acids. These compounds show Cotton Effects (CE) at 265–280 nm and 305–320 nm whose sign is characteristic for the absolute configuration of the Cα carbon.
