Resumo

Thermal data from Surveyor 3, especially during the eclipse, indicate that the local lunar surface is not as highly insulating as was predicted from earth-based observations. The effects of local lunar phase angle in various parts of the crater were apparently sensed. There is no evidence of a dust thermal blanket on Surveyor 3.
