Chandler College of Medicine, University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky 40536 Edgar T. Iwamoto was born on November 4, 1947, in Baltimore, MD, he received the B.S. degree (1969, Chemistry) from the University of Illinois, Champaign, and the Ph.D. (1973, Pharmacology) from the University of California, San Francisco. While a graduate student, he served as an Edith Claypole and E. E. Dowdle Fellow. Subsequently he served as an Assistant Research Pharmacologist (1973–1976) and Assistant Professor (1977–1978) at the University of California, San Francisco. In 1978, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, University of Kentucky, Albert B. Chandler Medical Center, Lexington, KY. His research interests include neurochemical mechanisms of opiate action, opioid peptide actions on biogenic amines and axonal protein transport in the CNS. Dr. Iwamoto is a member of the Society for Neuroscience and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.Search for more papers by this authorWilliam R. Martin, William R.
