The area known as Green IT combines the evolution of Information Technology (IT) to preserve the environment.Among the solutions you can list the increased lifespan of computers, reduction and recycling of waste electronic equipment connected only while being used, virtualization and reduced paper consumption by printing unnecessary.In this context, the extension project presented in this paper makes a survey of these aspects within the universe of higher education institution know by Centro Universitário Ritter dos Reis, located in Porto Alegre.Furthermore, it shows the benefit to the community.
