The wood of Licaria aritu Ducke (Lauraceae) contains the neolignans licarin-A, (2S,3S)-2,3-dihydro-2-(4′-hydroxy-3′-methoxyphenyl)-7-methoxy-3-methyl-5-trans-propenylbenzofuran and licarin-B, (2S, 3S)-2,3-dihydro-7-methoxy-3-methyl-2-piperonyl-5-trans-propenylbenzofuran.
