Resumo

Hypersensitivity to onion has been described as a cause of contact dermatitis, rhinoconjunctivitis, and asthma induced by handling of onions, but few publications in the literature report allergic reactions due to onion ingestion despite its wide use. 1 Asero R Mistrello G Roncarolo D Amato S A case of onion allergy. J Allergy Clin Immunol. 2001; 108: 309-310 PubMed Google Scholar Herein, we describe a case of a 19-year-old atopic woman who experienced urticaria after ingestion of raw onions. The patient had had rhinoconjunctivitis and contact urticaria to mugwort for the past 2 years, and oral pruritus after ingestion of raw onion and peel peach had occurred 1 year ago.
