History of Education Research in Brazil

This essay seeks to analyse two historiographic books on 1930. The first is Barbosa Lima Sobrinho's The truth on the Revolution of October, 24th 1930 and the other is Boris Fausto's 1930: history and historiography. Both narratives create differents patterns of historical explication, so they keep a rich dialogue between memory and history as ways of historical conscience.
