ResumoLocked nucleic acid is an RNA derivative in which the ribose ring is constrained by a methylene linkage between the 2′-oxygen and the 4′-carbon. This conformation restriction increases binding affinity for complementarity sequences and provides an exciting new chemical approach for the control of gene expression and optimization of microarrays.
