ResumoMicroreactors offer a unique opportunity in creating kinetically controlled growth of nanocrystals (NCs) by precise control of temperature, concentration and reaction time. The shape and size of SnTe NCs can be tuned by controlling the reaction conditions. The nuclei suppression by binding strength and steric effect of surfactants resulted in a higher concentration of monomers that were available in the growth step. This high concentration along with the higher temperature promoted the formation of rod-shaped SnTe NCs.
