Resumo

Agroclimatic characterization of droughts in localitie of Rafaela, Argentina.Droughts are a climatic disaster with negative social and economic impacts.Droughts occurred in Rafaela during 1932-2006 are analyzed.Drought occurrence is identified using ground meteorological data.Meteorological drought indices were used in a time analysis to establish drought intensity, frequency and occurrence.A close relationship was established between precipitation amount and variability and drought distribution in time.There is a trend in decreasing drought intensity starting in the´70s.
