ResumoIn the scope of an investigation of lithium intercalation in La13NbO3 and LiTi2(PO4)3 a new technique-the chemical short circuit method- has been developed to get easily intercalated materials with intermediate compositions. Direct reaction at RT of 〈H〉 with AxL 〈H〉 leads to Ax 〈H〉 with 0 < x < xL. This system can be considered as a rocking chair battery in short circuit as there is no separator between both species. In such a way materials with selected composition and exhibiting a very good homogeneity can be easily obtained. This technique is complementary to the butyllithium intercalation often used for obtaining fully intercalated phases.
