Resumo

The polarized Raman spectra of oriented phospholipids obtained from vesicle solution were studied with regard to the conformation of the phosphatidylcholine chain. Calculations of the Raman scattering activities were carried out, by the method previously described, and some information on the orientation of the phosphatidylcholine chain was obtained using the ν1(C–N) vibration of the choline head and the νs(PO−2 ) vibration. The chains slant more than in the DMPC crystals.
