Complexes of the type trans-X 2 Pt (NH 2 CHRCOOH) 2 (X = Cl, Br, J; R = H, CH 3 , CH(CH 3 ) 2 , CH 2 OH) react with amino acid esters (GlyOCH 3 , GlyOC 2 H 5 ) and N,N′-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide as coupling agent to form the corresponding dipeptide ester derivatives trans-X 2 Pt (NH 2 CHRC (O) NHCH 2 CO 2 R′) 2 . In these reactions the metal ion acts as N-terminal protecting group. The infrared spectra of the new compounds are reported.
