ResumoA micro–method is established for the determination of the poisonous principles of Ranunculus sceleratus L.; protoanemonin, ranunculin, as well as of anemonin. The method is based on the formation of 2,4–dinitrophenyl–hydrazone complex, which develops a red colour on addition of methanolic potassium hydroxide. The colour obeys Beer's law at concentrations of 2–14 μg/ml protoanemonin, and 1–7 μg/ml of anemonin.
