ResumoDNA gyrase is a type II DNA topoisomerase found in bacteria. Since its discovery in 1976 (Geliert et al. 1976), it has been the focus of a great deal of research, from both mechanistic and medical viewpoints, and it is the purpose of this chapter to address the first of these two areas.
