ResumoRecent work has provided new insights into the mechanisms by which Bacillus subtilis responds to signals that reflect high population density and nutritional limitation, the mechanisms that regulate activation of the key transcription factor Spo0A, and the physical basis for critical aspects of the Spo0A phosphorelay.
