ResumoAbstract An anthropometric study of female hands was carried out on 92 subjects. The twenty-eight measurements that were taken were those thought to be useful for the design of machinery and machine guards. The recommended dimensions for opening in fixed guards, BSS304:1975 and DIN 3100'Part 1, 1976, were found to be sufficiently small to prevent access to dangerous parts by all hands measured in this survey.
