ResumoAbstract Extract It is customary for associations such as ours to hold an annual gathering, which in America might be termed a clambake and which we in New Zealand might perhaps call a hangi. At such a gathering the president has the privilege of delivering an address. Since this is unedited and not subject to discussion, the opportunity may be used to deliver a scientific paper which would not otherwise be published. As, however, the committee has been generous enough to include me in the scientific programme, I am able to unburden on to you on this occasion a little philosophy which is entitled “Veterinary Art and Science”.
