ResumocBN–Ti3SiC2 composites with different cBN volume ratio were sintered by high pressure hot pressing. From the microscopic observation it could be concluded that the samples exhibit a porous less, dense structure. Various phase (TiB2, SiC4, TiC and SiC been formed in the cBN–Ti3SiC2 interface. X-Ray absorption study was used to determine the bonding characteristics of the cBN–Ti3SiC2 samples. The mechanical investigations of the BN–Ti3SiC2 composites were performed using a hardness test and an ultrasonic method basing on the measurement of the velocity of ultrasonic waves transition through the samples. Young's modulus and hardness of the investigated composites strictly depends on the cBN contents.
