ResumoSIGN of the times: Receptor–ligand interactions in which integral membrane proteins are involved can be detected directly by 1D saturation transfer difference (STD) NMR experiments on living cells (see 1H NMR (a) and STD (b) spectra of mannan with K562-CD209 cells). The technique can be used for molecular recognition in drug-screening processes and is demonstrated for the DC-SIGN receptor.
