Los dictámenes de 'Naturaleza viva', reconocido como pieza representativa de Cántico, han pasado por alto las remisiones del poema al exterior del discurso, entre las que deben figurar aquellas referidas al cubismo, al valor simbólico de la mesa como objeto ejemplar del discurso filosófico y a otro poema de Jorge Guillén, 'A nivel', composición representativa de su segundo gran libro, Clamor. El marbete del cubismo ha sido aplicado a Cántico más de una vez, pero siempre sin divulgar el razonamiento en que se ampara la atribución. Al respecto, varios son los rasgos prosódicos, sintácticos y temáticos de 'Naturaleza viva' que cimientan su raigambre cubista, a la vez que el motivo filosófico y material que comparte con 'A nivel' se presta a realizar una comparación sintetizadora que ilustra los avatares experimentados por la poética guilleniana, desde los inicios de Cántico hasta la clausura de Clamor.Critical judgments of 'Naturaleza viva', recognised as one of Cántico's representative poems, have tended to overlook its external references, including those which point to cubism, to the figurative value of the table as an exemplary object of philosophical discourse, and to another of Jorge Guillén's poems, 'A nivel', representative of his second great book, Clamor. The label 'cubism' has been applied to Cántico more than once, but without ever disclosing the reasoning that informs the attribution. In this respect, many are the prosodic, syntactic, and thematic elements that establish the cubist underpinnings of 'Naturaleza viva', while the philosophical and material motif it shares with 'A nivel' serves to draw a synthetic comparison that illustrates how Guillén's poetics changed in the span of three decades, from the beginnings of Cántico to the conclusion of Clamor.
