Resumo

Silicone rubber vaginal devices of six different formulations releasing predetermined, controlled doses of progestogens were designed and fabricated for 90-day clinical trials. Data obtained with 78 of the devices indicated that release rates (μg/day ± S.D.) for the formulations were: progesterone, 4040 ± 150, 1490 ± 100, 1440 ± 70; d-norgestrel, 188 ± 20, 41 ± 8; norethindrone, 479 ± 35. The release rates agreed well with release rates obtained .
