ResumoCapoeira has religiosity as one of the pillars of its social imaginary . The berimbau and atabaque lend their sacred attributes and are revered in the circle , their songs narrating stories and legends of gods and deities , which , together with Catholicism , make up a religious syncretism peculiar to the cultural manifestations of Africans and their descendants in Brazil . Thus , the purpose that guides us in this study , which carries a bibliographical aim , is to unveil the sacred aspects in the game of capoeira, hoping to contribute to the understanding of some symbolic frame that constitute this element of corporeal culture .
