Growth Hormone and Insulin-like Growth Factors

Abstract The solid‐phase synthesis of the fully protected N ‐terminal decapeptide sequence of human growth hormone, Boc‐Phe‐Pro‐Thr(ZTF)‐Ile‐Pro‐Leu‐Ser(Bzl)‐Arg‐(NO 2 )‐Leu‐Phe‐OMe, and the sequence 6‐10, Boc‐Leu‐Ser(Bzl)‐Arg(NO 2 )‐Leu‐Phe‐OMe, is described. The synthesis of the decapeptide was carried out twice, once with Boc‐amino acid couplings only, and once with dipeptide couplings of Boc‐Ile‐Pro and Boc‐Phe‐Pro. The products were purified by gel chromatography; the product obtained by the first method then still contained an impurity.
