ResumoA new Bi-containing cuprate, Bi 2 LaCaCuO 6.5+ y , was found and its properties were investigated. Its crystal structure was considered to be identical to that of the 7 K-class superconductor, Bi 2 Sr 2 CuO 6+ y . Semiconductive behavior of electrical resistivity and very weak diamagnetism were observed. Its unique magnetic property is discussed.
