ResumoAbstract Investigation of the aerial parts of Sisymbrium irio L. (Cruciferea) collected in northern Jordan afforded two new compounds, sitosteryl-6′-O-undecanoate-β-D-glucoside (1) and (Z)-8,11,12-trihydroxyoctadec-9-enoic acid (2), in addition to 12 known compounds, 10 of which are reported for the first time from the plant. The structures of all of the compounds were established by spectroscopic and chemical methods. Keywords: crotanoyl cosmosiinCrucifereanaringenin-4′-O-β-glucopyranoside Sisymbrium irio L. Acknowledgement The authors would like to thank the University of Jordan for providing financial support. Special thanks are due to Prof. Dawud Al-Eisawi of the University of Jordan for identification of the plant, Dr Jala Zahra for help in obtaining NMR spectra and Dr Amal Aboudi for obtaining the mass spectra.
