The present paper is concerned with the formulation of non-linear theories of thermo-visco-elasticity. The general theory presented embodies the non-linear generalization of Voigt, Maxwell and other classes of viscoelastic solids and fluids. The fundamental equations for the thermoelastic solid, the thermoviscous fluid and other special classes of materials are obtained from the general theory by specialization. The theory is applied to the problem of rectilinear laminar flow between two heat reservoirs for three special classes of thermo-viscoelastic materials. Some results of matrix algebra pertinent to the development of the theory are presented in the appendix. Dans le présent article, l'auteur établit les théories non linéaires de la thermo-viscoélasticité. La théorie générale exposée ici incorpore la généralisation non linéaire des classes de solides et de fluides visco-élastiques de Voigt, Maxwell et autres classes. Les équations fondamentales pour le solide thermoélastique, le fluide thermovisqueux ainsi que de classes spéciales de matières son dérivées de la théorie générale par spécialisation. Ensuite, la théorie est appliquée au problème du flux rectiligne laminaire entre deux accumulateurs de chaleur pour trois classes spéciales de matières thermo-viscoélastiques. Quelques résultats de calcul matriciel requis pour le développement de cette théorie sont présentés en appendice. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die nichtlinearen Theorien der Thermo-Visko-elastizität aufgestellt. Die hier vorgelegte allgemeine Theorie vereinigt die nichtlineare Verallgemeinerung für die Vbigt'schen, Maxwell'schen und anderen Klassen viskoelastischer fester und flüssiger Körper. Die Grundgleichungen für den thermoelastischen festen Körper, den thermoviskosen flüssigen Körper sowie für andere Sonderklassen von Stoffen werden durch Spezialisierung aus der allgemeinen Theorie abgeleitet. Die Theorie wird dann auf das Problem der geradlinigen Schichtströmung zwischen zwei Wärmespeicherm in Bezug auf drei Sonderklassen von thermo-viskoelastischen Stoffen angewandt. Im Anhang werden einige Ergebnisse der für die Entwicklung dieser Theorie erforderlichen Matrizenalgebra bekannt-gegeben. La teoria generale qui esposta comprende la generalizzazione non-lineare per i corpi viscoelastici solidi e liquidi delle classi di Voigt, Maxwell ed altre. Le equazioni fondamentali per il corpo solido termoelastico, per il corpo liquido termoviscoso e per altri classi particolari di sostanze vengono derivate mediante specializ-zazione della teoria generale. La teoria viene poi applicata al problema del flusso rettilineo stratificato fra due accumulatori di calore, con referimento a tre classi particolari di sostanze termo-viscoelastiche.
