Resumo

Often referred to as “the original Indiana Jones,” Roy Chapman Andrews was the first to find dinosaur eggs. It was a discovery that set the world of natural history afire: What else might be found? He was not allowed to find out as he was banned from further work by the new Communist government. Once Mongolia gained political independence in the early 1990s, there was an avid interest in continuing the work begun in the 1920s. Eventually, a Roy Chapman Andrews Society was formed among intellectuals in Ulaanbaatar. Part of their interest was to revisit the issues surrounding Andrew's departure and failure to return. This article is written by a Mongolian member of the Society.
