ResumoAnaerobic-aerobic combined system was efficient in removing aromatic amines, VFA, SMP and color from azo dye effluents.PAC played a key role in reducing SMP accumulation in anaerobic environment.Yeast extract, a cheap source of redox mediators, enhance color removal in the anaerobic reactor.The aerobic post-treatment unit completely removed the aromatic amines and VFA from the anaerobic effluent.
