Resumo

Sequestra are dead pieces of bone most often seen in long bones affected with prior or current infection. In addition to antibiotic therapy, chronic osteomyelitis with sequestration requires surgical debridement for cure. The author presents a case of tibial fracture associated with chronic osteomyelitis, nonunion, and the presence of a sequestrum that was detected by bone SPECT/CT.
