ResumoThe use of oriented strand boards (OSB) is relatively uncommon in the design of furniture. Yet, their excellent mechanical performance, especially with regard to bending, could make them an ideal material for certain applications. In this study, experiments were carried out to compare OSB panels with other wood-based panels, widely used in the furniture industry, such as medium-density fibreboard and particle boards, as regards to their resistance to bending, the defects that appear as a result of the application of the coating, their economic costs and their aesthetic properties.
