Resumo

Increase in ecdysteroid level of the haemolymph and intensification of cellular activity in the Y organ are closely synchronized with apolysis in the dactyl (C 2 ′) and with the generalized apolysis (D 0 ) of Ligia oceanica (L.) (Crustacea, Isopoda, Oniscoidea). The role of the molt hormone in starting apolysis is discussed.
