ResumoAbstract A method for measuring deuterium by means of the nuclear reaction d(γ, n)p is described. The neutrons are moderated in paraffin and captured in indium, the induced radioactivity of which is measured. 24 Na is the source of gamma-radiation. The detection limit is about 0.03 atom per cent deuterium in H 2 O-D 2 O mixtures. At about 0.3 atom per cent the method error is about 3 per cent.
