ResumoAbstract The observed contrast of periodic array in a grain boundary terminating in the triple junction is analysed. A large angular deviation from any high density coincidence site lattice (CSL) boundary has been found by determining the rotation parameters of such a boundary with high accuracy. In spite of the large misorientation, an agreement between secondary grain boundary dislocation models and the observed periodicity was found. This indicates a possibility of accommodating misorientations from certain coincidence orientation relationships to larger secondary rotations than previously assumed. Furthermore, close agreement with the determined periodicity and plane matching of (111) planes was also found according to which the tilt deviation could be accommodated by the lattice dislocations with Burgers vector of type a/2 〈111〉.
